X PASSPORTS

Today, 9 December 2024 the fight for X PASSPORTS passed a grim milestone as my Claim against the UK has been lodged with the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg for two and a half years. There has been no progress to date as the Court has yet to reach a first decision.

I’m aware the delay in processing this case has effected many people, and I’m also aware that many more have simply ‘switched off’ in the absence of news or discernable signs that the case will be progressed. I’ve been told, as is born out from research of other cases brought before the Court, that if my Claim had been deemed inadmissible then my legal team would almost certainly have been told some time ago.

I’d like to regard the lack of communication from the Court as a sign of optimism when there has been frankly nothing to feel optimistic about, however I cannot explain the unacceptable delay.

All I ask of those who’ve supported me throughout this long battle over the fundamental right of legitimate identity is not to lose heart. Even if the outcome of these proceedings is not positive – or, indeed, there is no outcome as proceedings drag on indefinitely – the UK Government will eventually be forced to conform and adopt the issuance of X PASSPORTS as policy, a progressive measure that a growing number of countries already have in place.
