18 months on from when my excellent Legal Team lodged my Claim at the European Court of Human Rights [ECtHR] we still wait for a decision with regards to the case’s admissibility before the Court.
I’ve spoken to the Team and expressed concern about the delay. I’ve been given a revised timeline of when we can expect an update. The backlog at the Court is such that the original timeline of at least one year has morphed into an anticipated three years – just to get a decision on admissibility.
I’ve researched cases lodged around the same time as mine and these were all ruled inadmissible in 2022. The fact that there has been no decision reached on my case could be seen as a positive sign but right now it does not feel at all positive and I want justice that was shamefully denied by the UK’s judicial system.
X PASSPORTS were relatively unknown when I began campaigning for them in the UK. Now they are issued in countries around the world as the UK remains a regressive outlier. The UK is bound by international agreement to recognise the X PASSPORT as a valid travel document when presented by visitors from more enlightened countries.
The recent announcement that the UK Government will no longer re-issue Gender Recognition Certificates and other documentation originating from countries with self-ID does not affect the validity of X PASSPORTS which are issued in accordance with internationally accepted standards as defined by the International Civil Aviation Organization.
