X PASSPORTS ECtHR CLAIM: THE WAIT CONTINUES FOR NEWS FROM STRASBOURG

After more than a year from the day our Claim against the United Kingdom was lodged with the European Court of Human Rights [ECtHR] at Strasbourg we still wait for a decision from the Court with regards to the case’s admissibility.

The Claim concerns HM Passport Office’s discriminatory passport policy whereby British passport applicants are denied the right to apply for an X PASSPORT. The policy applies even when gendered options ‘M’ and ‘F’ are not appropriate due to the applicant not identifying as either male or female.

I’m not able to give any indication at this moment as to how long it might take before we get news because there is no set time limit and cases lodged with the Court are not dealt with in the order of receipt for a number of reasons. All I can say for now is that we have an allocated case number indicating the case is in the ECtHR system along with tens of thousands of other cases.

In the meantime I’m keeping busy with, among other things, my Substack platform The View From Outside which comprises opinion pieces not necessarily linked to the campaign and offer critique assessment of current affairs issues, our government and many of the unsavoury characters that float within and around it.

My latest article centres on Nigel Farage and his unlikely latest endeavour as consumer champion for the people against the banks. No, I don’t believe it for one second either.
